“Putin ordered no strikes on Kyiv for three days starting from midnight today,” said D. Peskov.

According to D. Peskov, the temporary halt of strikes on Kyiv is related to preparations for the visit of US representatives and their meetings in the Ukrainian capital.

“The halt of strikes on Kyiv is connected with the preparation and progress of meetings of American negotiators taking place there,” said D. Peskov.

At the same time, the Kremlin announced that a meeting of V. Putin with S. Witkoff and J. Kushner is scheduled in Moscow today.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday proposed a ceasefire with Russia during the visit of US envoys.

“From our side, there will be no air strikes, and Russia must ensure mutual ceasefires – without any of its own air strikes – for as long as these negotiations take,” he said in his evening address.

US President on Friday announced sending Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Moscow and Kyiv. This is the latest Washington attempt to break the diplomatic deadlock in the bloodiest conflict in Europe since World War II.

“I sent Witkoff and Kushner, two great negotiators. They did a great job, and we sent them to see if they can achieve something. We might have good chances to do so,” said D. Trump.

“They are bringing a proposal to end the war,” he said.

The US president did not disclose whether this plan involves ceding Ukrainian territories, as he had hinted earlier, but added: “We have an idea for peace.”

S. Witkoff and J. Kushner, who participated in ceasefire negotiations in the Gaza Strip and Iran, have visited Moscow several times but have not yet been to Ukraine.

Russian media earlier on Saturday reported that the American plane has already landed in Moscow.

Russia struck a civilian target in the Dnipro region at night, killing four people, and also attacked two Kyiv airports, V. Zelensky reported, accusing the Kremlin of trying to sabotage the envoys’ visit.
