Mindaugas Skersys, head of theatre marketing and communications, told the LRT.lt portal that the reason is related to the actor Tadas Gryn, who was supposed to play the main role in the play.

“One of the main actors left the job and it was not possible to agree on further conditions,” said M. Skersys.

Meanwhile, the actor himself told the portal that he was most likely dismissed

“Most likely I was gotten rid of. I don’t know the reasons, maybe it was just a desire to show power. I am shocked, all tickets for the performances were sold out. On the contrary, I tried to make sure the play would take place and be shown, but there were no efforts or willingness from the theatre management to find a solution, except for raising their own conditions with an ultimatum.

Despite that, I even called the theatre director today, hoping to resolve this issue, but I was ignored. This showed complete disrespect both to the actors and the audience. I feel very sorry for my colleagues and the viewers who wanted to see the play,” actor T. Gryn commented to LRT.lt.
