Commenting on the high cost of the project, W. Kosiniak-Kamysz emphasized that “this is the best investment in security.”
According to W. Kosiniak-Kamysz, the permanent presence of US troops in the country is a goal that Poland has been pursuing for many years. The minister added that the ongoing negotiations have reached the final stage.
He said that the negotiations are currently focusing mainly on one base, which should not be located in one place. “For future infrastructure, it is necessary to consider not only the requirements of military support but also the living conditions of soldiers’ families,” he said.

Decisions on the location and the final form of the project are expected to be made soon. “Ultimately, of course, it will depend on the US president,” summarized W. Kosiniak-Kamysz.
