According to experts, if windows are left open during the warmest hours of the day, flies easily enter the house. High temperatures intensify the smells of food products, fruits, and food waste, which attract insects and cause them to linger indoors.
To reduce the risk of flies appearing while keeping cool, specialists recommend following a different scheme. During the pressing heat of the day, it is better to keep windows closed and curtains or blinds lowered, especially if the windows face the sunny side. This helps reduce room heating.
It is advised to ventilate rooms early in the morning or late in the evening when it gets cooler outside. At these times, the fan most effectively distributes fresh air throughout the rooms without creating additional conditions for insects to penetrate.
Equally important is to remove all sources of odors that may attract flies. It is best to keep fruits in closed containers, not leave unwashed dishes in the sink for long, and take out the trash regularly.
It is also recommended to immediately wipe up spilled drinks and food residues from kitchen surfaces.

Most often, flies do not enter homes by accident – they are attracted by the smell of food. Therefore, a combination of timely cleaning, proper ventilation, and protecting the room from sun heat helps maintain a comfortable temperature and significantly reduces the likelihood of insects appearing.
Why do insects breed in flower pots?
The appearance of small insects near houseplants is usually related to excess moisture in the soil. According to specialists, constantly damp soil becomes an ideal breeding ground for pests, so their numbers can increase rapidly.
To avoid this problem, it is recommended to follow a moderate watering regime. Before watering the soil again, it is worth waiting until the top layer of the substrate dries out a bit. Equally important is to pour out the remaining water from the tray after watering, as moisture stagnation promotes the appearance of insects.
If the flies have already managed to breed, one of the simplest control methods is special yellow sticky traps. They are placed near houseplants: the bright color attracts adult individuals, which stick to the sticky surface.
This helps gradually reduce the number of pests and prevent their further reproduction.
