It is stated that A. Karnišovas, who has worked in the NBA environment for more than two decades, „will advise NBA commissioner Adam Silver and his assistants on the management of „NBA Europe“ and European basketball rules, and will also work to identify and attract talents to this project and pave the way for players from the new project to the NBA league“.
It is added that the Lithuanian will act as a link between the NBA and the new European basketball project, „NBA Europe“, NBA teams, and FIBA.
It is expected that „NBA Europe“ will start in the fall of 2027. This league should have 16 teams – twelve with long-term licenses and four that have passed the selection or performed successfully in the FIBA Champions League.

A. Karnišovas said goodbye to the „Bulls“ club this spring, where he made the most important decisions for the past six years, since 2020.
Earlier, he was an influential figure in the „Denver Nuggets“ organization, where he worked from 2013 to 2020.
