A national research company “Focaldata” survey, conducted on behalf of the “Financial Times” from August 28 to September 1, showed that 33% of registered voters view D. Trump’s work as president positively. This is three percentage points less than last month and the worst result since May, when the “Financial Times” began conducting this survey.

The study involved 1,914 registered voters, with a survey margin of error of 2.6 percentage points.

The survey results show that voters’ attitudes toward the president are increasingly influenced by the economic situation. Almost two-thirds of respondents believe that the US economy is moving in the wrong direction.
Even among Republican Party voters, satisfaction with the president’s economic policy is declining. Only 53% of them positively evaluate D. Trump’s work on employment and economic issues.
D. Trump still maintains strong support among Republican Party voters, but changes are also visible here.
Among Republican Party voters, D. Trump still has much greater support than among all voters – 72% positively evaluate his work.

However, this is the lowest figure since the beginning of the “Financial Times” surveys.
In a month, D. Trump’s support among Republicans decreased by more than 2 percentage points.
The latest survey shows that the deteriorating evaluation of the president may affect his party ahead of the US Congressional elections in November.
These elections will decide who controls the House of Representatives and the Senate. Although D. Trump himself will not run in the elections, they are also seen as an assessment of his presidency and the Republican Party’s policies.
46% of voters believe that D. Trump makes it harder for Republican candidates to win in November. More than half of the surveyed voters think so.
Additionally, 47% of respondents said that D. Trump’s support for a candidate would encourage them not to support such a candidate.
