The finish awaited in the very center of Birmingham – Victoria Square.
The European champion was the Spaniard Maria Perez (1 hour 30 minutes 6 seconds), who set a new world record in the new distance.
Silver went to the Italian Alexandrina Mihai, who received two warnings (1:31:04), bronze – to the Ukrainian Liudmila Olianovska (1:31:07).

A. Kavaliauskaitė finished in 1 hour 43 minutes 16 seconds. She took 25th place.
A total of 30 walkers reached the finish of the new distance – the half marathon. As many as 21 of them recorded their fastest times in their careers.
