In the women’s single sculls final, the 30-year-old Lithuanian shot ahead from the first strokes, rowed first for half the distance, and confidently finished in second place.
V. Senkutė rowed the 2000 meter distance in 7 min. 19.22 sec.
Gold was won by Brit Lauren Henry (7:15.11), bronze by Serbian Jovana Arsić (7:21.58).
This is Victoria’s first medal at the European Championships. Until now, her highest place was last year, when she finished fifth.
