Vilnius native who represented the “Telšiai” team for the past two years will play for Ukmergė’s “Stekas” team in the upcoming season.

“Two-time EuroLeague champion, EuroCup winner, World Championship bronze medalist, and winner of many other titles Martynas Gecevičius will play in Ukmergė. Welcome, Martynas!” – reads the Ukmergė club’s Facebook.
Playing an average of 28 minutes last season for the “Telšiai” team, M. Gecevičius scored 15.9 points (49.6%, 32.1% three-pointers, 90.4% free throws), 3.7 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 17 efficiency points.

“Stekas” finished 16th in the last National Basketball League (NKL) season and did not qualify for the playoffs.
During his long career, M. Gecevičius has also played for Vilnius “Sakalai”, Vilnius “Lietuvos rytas”, Piraeus “Olympiakos”, Zaragoza “Casademont”, Zielona Góra “Stelmet”, “Prienai”, Utena “Juventus”, and Mažeikiai “M Basket” teams.
