Starting his professional career in the Palanga and Kaunas “Žalgiris” reserve teams in the National Basketball League, the player from Kretinga later moved to the LKL where he played for Prienai “Skycop”, Jonava “CBet”, Vilnius “Wolves” and Kėdainiai “Nevėžis-Paskolos klubas” teams.

Vitalijus had his most successful season in the Lithuanian Basketball League in 2021–2022, representing Jonava “CBet”. That season, the forward averaged 8.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 8.4 efficiency points per game.

Besides club basketball, Kozys has also represented all the main Lithuanian youth national teams – U16, U17, U18, and U20 – where he was one of the most valuable and important players. With the U16 team, he won a silver medal at the European Championship in 2015, and with the U17 and U18 teams – bronze medals at the World and European Championships.

Versatile, combative, and active on both ends of the court – the experienced forward will be an important part of the upcoming LKL season, supported by “Betsson”, in the Tauragė team.
