Lithuanian Armed Forces exercises in Klaipėda: strengthening infrastructure protection

The Lithuanian Armed Forces are constantly preparing to provide support to civilian institutions in response to various security situations. One such task is the protection of critical infrastructure, which the Lithuanian Armed Forces are already carrying out in cooperation with responsible state institutions. During these exercises, interaction, decision-making, and the readiness of forces are improved to quickly strengthen the protection of critical infrastructure objects and carry out other tasks assigned to the Lithuanian Armed Forces, if necessary.

Soldiers from the Lithuanian Armed Forces’ Naval Force, Land Force, Air Force, and Military Police participate in the exercises. Tasks are carried out in cooperation with the Military Commandants’ Board, coordinating actions with the Public Security Service, Klaipėda State Seaport Authority, and other civilian institutions.

During the exercises, soldiers, military ships, high-speed boats, and Air Force helicopters carry out tactical tasks in the territories of Klaipėda Port, the port channel, and the Curonian Spit, aimed at training rapid response, protection of important objects, and coordination of actions with civilian institutions.
