„On the other hand, there were no targets, even (…) assuming that Russia does not hesitate to target civilian sites, there were no such targets nearby. The only one is a power plant one and a half kilometers from our embassy, which is constantly attacked, a thermal power plant, so it can be said that it could have been targeted, but very close to us. Because one crater is just a few meters from the fence, another crater is made (…) it is 150 meters from our territory,” said the head of Lithuanian diplomacy.
The minister emphasized that Russia must ensure the security of diplomatic missions, and Moscow is being asked to compensate for the damage caused.
„It is obvious, the windows in our mission are broken, the roof is damaged, so we will not leave it like that. (…) What they are doing in Kyiv, attacking objects that have nothing to do with military targets, are crimes,” he said.

As BNS wrote, embassy staff were unharmed during the strikes on Saturday night, but the window frames of the building were damaged, glass shattered, the roof damaged, and solar collectors on it.
The attack, during which the Lithuanian embassy building was damaged, was condemned by President Gitanas Nausėda and Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrij Sybiha.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has already lodged a strong protest with the Russian representative and noted that such actions grossly violate the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
