As the Russian invasion of Ukraine continues, warnings about possible air threats have been issued in Lithuania in recent months, but this is the first time a drone has been shot down over the country’s airspace. This has previously been done in Latvia and Estonia.
In a special 15min broadcast, R. Kaunas reiterated what is already known: it was established that the airspace was violated by a drone from Belarus, which was neutralized about 20 minutes after midnight by NATO fighter jets conducting an air defense mission in Lithuania.
