She says that the biggest culprits of plum worm infestation are the plum fruit moth and the sawfly. “Pests attack plums much earlier than they ripen and we start eating them, so prevention should be taken not now, but much earlier. Damaged plums begin to fall and rot, so we lose part of the harvest even before the plums ripen, and when they do ripen, we can notice that they are already worm-infested,” Lina explains the peculiarities of the pests’ work.
