During the war, Iran targeted US military bases throughout the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, and Bahrain.

Since then, relations with these countries have deteriorated.
M. Khamenei, who has the final say on the most important directions of state policy, also urged Iranian officials and citizens to set aside disagreements and unite against Israel and the US.
“Again, this servant’s advice to the Iranian people is not to allow any mutual disagreements to arise in any way,” he said, repeating thoughts expressed in another message on Friday.
“I firmly declare that any action that harms social cohesion is forbidden,” the Friday statement said.
On Friday, he also called for gradually abandoning the US dollar in the Iranian economy and promoting production to support growth after the US Navy blockade and years of crippling sanctions that affected living standards.
