The event organizer, head of the Panevėžys business women’s network Genė Pučinskienė, did not hide her emotions – organizing an event of this nature required a lot of courage.

“The first time everything was so timid – everyone was a bit confused wondering what would happen and if it would succeed, because our city is quite reserved. In other cities, white dinners have long been held, but in Panevėžys there are only gatherings of certain communities – Šaltinis, Molainiai, or Piniava. So no one dared to invite the whole city to come out to the center together, and it was hard to even imagine where it could lead.”
G. Pučinskienė revealed that the desire to change this situation came from an inner longing to give a celebration to her city.
“Our club simply dared to organize it. I wanted the mood of the white color – so pure, bright, and uplifting – to be created specifically in the city of Panevėžys. Now we see that the number of participants is growing rapidly because people needed such a gathering together, some fun. The sense of community that is created this evening is incomparable to anything else.”
G. Pučinskienė was pleased that the universal white color celebration was successful. If about 800 people participated in the first dinner, this year about 2,000 elegantly dressed guests gathered in Laisvės Square.

This year the event attracted guests not only from Panevėžys. In Laisvės Square – guests from Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, Šiauliai, Latvia, and the United Kingdom.
International business forum participants from London also came to the celebration. Along with them – six-year-old Izabelė, whose performed pieces began the official part of the evening.
“The aura here is simply unique,” G. Pučinskienė rejoiced.
“First of all, it is created by the people themselves, I dare say that they are inspired by the white color. Such goodwill spreads, it seems that all those gathered are your closest friends. The French, who came up with this code, acted very wisely. It is precisely in the white color that this magical atmosphere’s secret lies.”
