„The main goal of these exercises will be to train actions transitioning from peacetime to a crisis situation, activating peacetime task units and strengthening border sections and critical infrastructure, as well as activating rapid response standby units to neutralize asymmetric threats,“ said Lithuanian Armed Forces Defense Staff Chief Rear Admiral Giedrius Premeneckas on Tuesday while presenting the exercises.

According to the army representative, during the exercises in September and October, up to 2,400 active army reserve personnel will be called to various Lithuanian Armed Forces units, and more than 5,000 reserve soldiers will be reached via communication means to update their contact and other necessary data.
