The published video shows a guy and a girl walking towards their car, but they are caught up by two men who start punching them. Later, a third man runs up to them and also attacks.
It was filmed how the guy is knocked to the ground and is beaten and kicked by three men, while the girl receives several blows to the head.
“My daughter suffered serious injuries. Doctors are currently stitching her neck. She and her boyfriend are suspected of having a concussion. As a mother, I cannot describe in words the pain, fear, and despair I am currently experiencing.
I ask everyone who cares to help spread this post. I especially appeal to Poles – please help ensure that as many people as possible learn about this attack. Such brutality cannot be allowed to go unpunished or be silenced,” wrote the mother of the injured girl.
According to her, the men attacked her daughter and her boyfriend because of their Ukrainian accent.
Urging measures
On Monday, the Consulate General of Ukraine in Wrocław confirmed that unknown individuals had beaten Ukrainian citizens and urged Polish authorities to clarify the situation.
A statement published on Facebook emphasizes that Polish authorities must promptly respond to yet another incident, of which an increasing number have been recorded recently.
“We must state that recently there has been an increase in cases of violence and aggression in Poland, where Ukrainian citizens become victims. Each such case requires a thorough investigation and appropriate legal assessment,” the consulate’s statement said.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha has already instructed the Consulate General to urgently take the necessary retaliatory measures.
In turn, the Consulate General has already sent an official inquiry to the competent institutions of the National Police of the Republic of Poland and is awaiting official information.
“If the stated circumstances are confirmed, we expect a comprehensive, objective, and prompt investigation, determination of the crime’s motives, and prosecution of those responsible in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Poland,” the statement emphasizes.
Diplomats note that any manifestations of violence, xenophobia, or hatred are unacceptable and should have no place in a democratic society.
“We urge Ukrainian citizens who may have been affected by this incident or have information about it to contact the Consulate General of Ukraine in Wrocław. This will allow for the provision of necessary consular assistance and support cooperation with competent authorities,” the diplomats stated.
A few days ago, Polish police announced that they had intensified the fight against hate crimes against Ukrainians.
According to media reports, since the beginning of 2026, the number of reports of hate crimes against Ukrainian citizens in Poland has significantly increased.
According to data from the General Directorate of the Polish Police, Ukrainians filed 180 complaints in the first six months of the year alone, which is more than 30% higher than the figures for the corresponding period of previous years.
On July 22, Polish police announced that they had detained a 26-year-old woman who is suspected of beating Ukrainian teenage girls. The detainee has been charged with bodily harm and using violence or threats to compel certain behavior.
In mid-July, a video appeared on social media showing a man insulting Ukrainian girls on a city bus in Bielsko-Biała, Poland. He swore at them with obscene words, yelled at them, and told them to go back to Ukraine.
