During the mission, the team worked in the Bordeaux and Marseille regions. Lithuanians, together with forces from France and other countries, conducted fire site reconnaissance, extinguished smoldering hotspots, and helped prevent the fires from reigniting.
In fighting the forest fires in southern France, 220 thousand people had to be evacuated, the fires destroyed more than 200 homes, and devastated an area of 42 thousand hectares.

On Sunday, a group of medics who participated in an internship in Ukraine will also return to Lithuania.
For the first time, a joint internship of Lithuanian, Latvian, and Estonian medics was held in a warring state.
For two weeks, they learned from Ukrainian medics working under real war conditions how to respond to mass injuries and war traumas, organize patient evacuation, and ensure hospital operations under constant threat conditions.
