But on Friday, a famous chef shared on social media that a window was broken in a restaurant located in the Hales market premises. He does not hide his belief that antisemites are responsible for such an act.

“Do you still feel safe in your own home?
Antisemitism in Lithuania has not disappeared. It is raising its head again.
Today, another attack against “Baleboste”. This time – in broad daylight, in front of people, observed by cameras. Someone consciously decided that hatred and violence are acceptable ways to express their opinion.
A simple question arises – how many more such attacks must happen before the responsible institutions start taking it seriously?
If a person can come during the day, in a public place, break windows and feel unpunished, this is not only his problem. It is a signal of the ineffectiveness of those whose job is to ensure public order and people’s safety.
Hate crimes start with a stone through a window. Tomorrow it could be an attack on a person.
So let’s stop pretending that this is “just a broken window.” This is intimidation. This is hatred. This is an attack on the community.
And to those who hide behind anonymous comments, threats, and stones – have at least enough courage to express your opinion openly, without breaking someone else’s property and running away from responsibility.
We expect results, not excuses. It is the duty of the police and other institutions to find the culprits and show that such actions have no place in Lithuania.
Because today a window was broken. The question is – what will happen tomorrow?” – asked V. Blauzdavičius.
A little later, on Monday, the man shared a continuation of the story. This time he described how the officers reacted to the situation.
“I can openly say that the Lithuanian police demonstrate an unwillingness to work. The broken window, police called after a minute, arrival after two hours, plenty of cameras around during the day. So if some misfortune happens again, I hope they will be calm, thinking they did everything they could. I respect the duties, but that feeling when they do everything to stop any investigation so that they don’t have to do anything, I understand that they are lacking, but is this the problem of me, a citizen paying taxes, living here?” – he said.
Zmones.lt also contacted police representatives for a comment. Upon receiving a response, we will update the text.
