“The backpack we keep talking about is mostly for those cases when you need to retreat from home for one reason or another. But I don’t have such a backpack, to be honest with you. My duty, my oath obliges me to defend the homeland and I, so to speak, will not run anywhere, I will stand and fight. But not everyone can do that. There are women, children, elderly, sick people, and all kinds of others who have reasons to hide, so having a backpack is necessary,” said Svaras.
He then explained what needs to be packed in this backpack.
“These must be the most important things, meant for a few days, because you can’t carry a backpack meant for a week, a month, etc. You don’t need to pack all your life documents, it’s better to think about where to safely hide those documents. You can already think about all this now.
But keep your ID with you, that is one of the most important things you need to have. You also need to have money. And not just on cards, but you need cash. Currency will always help. You will be able to buy food later even from people like you, with that money. You also need to have water, which is very important. Essential clothes that will help you not to get cold. If it gets too warm, you can take some off, but you need certain clothes to keep warm.

You also need to think about what you will retreat with. There are many trendy cars nowadays. But think about whether your car can travel a longer distance, considering that it might stand in traffic jams for many hours. That is why electric cars raise many questions for me. Vehicles with greater off-road capability always have an advantage.
If you are traveling with children, pack something for them, but always keep in mind that you can’t carry backpacks weighing 100 kilograms each, overloaded. And secondary necessity items must be left behind. You will lose them anyway while traveling. So take only what you need now and here: food, water, money, medicine. Medicine is very important.
By the way, medicine can also be currency if really needed. In all crises, all over the world, where various upheavals, wars, or something else happened, medicine was what was exchanged because, so to speak, you can’t make it yourself. They are very important. Well, and of course, you need them yourself.
But our most important weapon is to stay calm in any situation. You won’t survive in panic. Because sometimes those situations are not as bad as people make them just because they panic, get confused, cause chaos, or something else. Calmly. Of course, it is difficult for some people to react this way. Then those nearby who can stay calm must take such a person by the scruff of the neck and calm them down.
There is only one homeland, we will all defend it together and everything will be fine,” Svaras said on the “Power Hit Radio” show.
