The passenger plane cabin filled with smoke, and several people suffered burns. When this frightening incident occurred, 133 people were flying on the American Airlines flight from Atlanta to Dallas on Friday.

There was only half an hour left until the scheduled landing. The audio recording captures the pilot saying: “There is a fire at the back of the cabin.” Later he adds: “Flight attendants are now trying to extinguish it.”
In another message, the pilot says: “I think we have about four or five passengers who were burned because of a laptop. The laptop is contained roughly in the middle of the plane.”
Flight attendants did everything to put out the fire, while smoke spread throughout the cabin.
One passenger, Jessica Irgens, told CBS News about the shocking incident. She said she was sitting just two rows away from where the fire started.
It is reported that the laptop owner placed it in the aisle, and other passengers tried to help.

As reported by the Daily Mail, about five minutes after the incident began, flight attendants managed to put the laptop into a special thermal protective bag.
Dallas Fort Worth International Airport reported that one passenger received medical assistance after the plane landed.
American Airlines stated: “Flight 2398 safely landed at DFW Airport after reports of smoke coming from a customer’s device during descent. We thank our crew for their professionalism and quick response, which helped quickly contain the device.”
One passenger received medical assistance.
The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration has launched an investigation into this incident.
Some airlines and countries may impose special restrictions on what electronic devices can be carried in hand luggage. Passengers are advised to check the applicable restrictions with their airline before the flight. Some items, such as lithium batteries, electronic cigarettes, and vaping devices, must be carried in hand luggage.
