Police representatives did not disclose the children’s names at a press conference but indicated their ages. Among the victims were boys aged 15, 12, 11, and 5, as well as two 11-year-old adopted girls.
According to investigators, 47-year-old family head Kristopher Karolkiewicz shot his wife Amanda and all six children with a handgun, then committed suicide. After the massacre, the man deliberately set the house on fire – it was determined that the fire was intentionally started in several different locations on the first floor and basement, although the exact origin of the fire is still being determined.
Piecing together the puzzle of this tragedy, possible motives began to emerge. It was revealed that K. Karolkiewicz previously worked as vice president of sales and marketing at the American Heart Foundation but lost his job in July this year, wrote “Unilad”. His wife Amanda worked as an elementary school teacher.
The newspaper “Detroit News” uncovered the woman’s posts on the Reddit platform, which revealed a deep marital crisis. Some time before the tragedy, Amanda confided online that her husband had an “emotional affair”. The parents of the murdered Amanda, Becky and Steve Lawwill, described their daughter in a sensitive statement to NBC News as “a good and devoted soul who loved her family and students deeply.” “We cherished every moment spent with her and her six children.
