The film “Winner” takes us to modern Kazakhstan. Seventeen-year-old Mila (actress Tamiris Zhangazinova) can no longer endure the chaos in her family. By chance, she discovers an open water swimming team led by the mysterious coach Vlad (actor Valentin Novopolskij), and she joins it, hoping to find order, discipline, and a place where she can finally feel at home. But when her place on the team begins to waver, Mila increasingly succumbs to the fear of losing it and must decide how far she is willing to go to preserve the fragile balance of her life.

Presented at the Locarno Film Festival, the debut feature film by Kazakh director Zhannat Alshanova tells a sensitive coming-of-age story about the desire to fit in, family relationships, and the boundary between ambition and losing oneself.

The adventure drama “The Death of Robin Hood” depicts the barbaric Middle Ages. England is drowning in chaos and corruption. Severely wounded Robin Hood (actor Hugh Jackman), seeking refuge and a safe place to hide, knocks on the door of the remote Kirklys monastery. Here he falls into the hands of the mysterious Sister Brigid (actress Jodie Comer), the monastery’s hostess.
She is a magical healer whose gentleness disarms Robin and makes him believe in goodness for the first time. But those whom Robin crossed paths with come to finish what was started. The legendary outlaw must take up arms once again and face his final, bloody battle.
