„I would like to say something positive or negative, but actually, the team is still polishing itself, we had three players in the national teams, now there are also injured players, so it is hard to see the full picture. A normal preparation process is underway, and we are glad that the players’ and the team’s form is improving,“ said the sports director.
G. Navickas also highlighted the ongoing „honeymoon period“ in the team and the importance of large player rotation.

„One thing is to have backup options in case of injuries, but we also did not want to depend on one player and his injury or absence for other reasons. Another reason for deep rotation is that everyone stays motivated. Tomas wants intensity throughout all the games, so I think this squad is able to fulfill that,“ added G. Navickas.
The club’s sports director also discussed Carsen Edwards’ integration into the team.
„He fits in well. He is not the first player in our practice about whom we hear from other clubs that he is one way or another. Here, in „Žalgiris“, we have a culture and we expect that this culture elevates players to another level. Moreover, we have experienced players who help Carsen integrate both in terms of basketball, our culture introduction, and communication. We have no problems or challenges with Carsen,“ said G. Navickas.
