Parkour, judo, and creative “Wind and Tailor” activities may seem to have little in common at first glance. However, the most important thing everywhere is to start from the basics, learn at your own pace, and not be afraid to try.

Every obstacle can have more than one solution
At the Vilnius Parkour Academy, children learn jumps, descents, balancing, climbing, flips, and various ways to overcome obstacles. Some elements require more strength and speed, others – coordination, balance, and courage.
Beginners first learn to move safely, jump and descend correctly, maintain balance, and overcome simpler obstacles. Only after mastering the basics do they move on to more complex combinations, acrobatic elements, and those interested can prepare for performances or parkour competitions.

However, the uniqueness of parkour is not just physical preparation. The same obstacle can be overcome in many ways, so children are encouraged to find solutions themselves, experiment, and discover their own movement style. Every challenge overcome also builds self-confidence.
Judo – not only technique but also character
At the Vilnius Judo Academy, the first steps begin with one of the most important skills – the ability to fall safely. Children also learn to move correctly on the tatami, maintain balance, and perform basic techniques.
Later, work with a partner appears, more complex throws, their combinations, and practical combat tasks. Those who want to achieve sports results are gradually prepared for competitions, but this is not a mandatory goal – judo can be practiced for physical activity, new skills, and enjoyment of the sport.

This sport also develops the ability to make quick decisions. A child needs not only to learn the technique but also to understand when and how to use it in response to the partner’s actions.
Equally important judo values are respect for the coach, training partner, and opponent. Therefore, along with strength, coordination, and endurance, discipline, self-control, responsibility, perseverance, and self-confidence grow.
When an idea gradually becomes a creation
A completely different challenge awaits in the “Wind and Tailor” creative activities. Here, instead of physical challenges, there are creative ones – participants use special looped yarns to handcraft pillows, scarves, blankets, toys, mats, accessories, or their own invented works.
Hand knitting does not require needles or a hook – loops are simply connected to each other, so this technique is quite easy to try even for those who have never knitted before. Much freedom is also left for creativity: you can choose colors yourself, combine patterns, shapes, and realize your ideas.
The creative process develops patience, concentration, motor skills, and creative thinking, while also allowing relaxation and a brief escape from everyday life. The activities take place in cozy groups, so you can not only create but also share ideas and find like-minded people.

In parkour, a child learns to find their own way through an obstacle, in judo – to respond appropriately to a changing situation, and in creative activities – to gradually turn their idea into a real creation. The activities are different, but in all of them, the most important thing is not to know everything immediately but to allow yourself to start, try, and discover what truly engages you.
While children are in clubs – time for yourself
While children spend time in clubs, parents can take a short break – have a coffee, eat, or shop calmly. Thus, “Vilnius Outlet” clubs become a convenient part of everyday life for the whole family: at the same time, you can take care of the children’s engagement and do daily tasks, saving time.
The new “Vilnius Outlet” club season starts in September, at V. Pociūno St. 8, near the capital’s Western bypass.
