Analysts reported that on July 24, a Russian source informed that Russia urgently deployed additional stationary Pantsir air defense systems throughout the Moscow region. This occurred after Wildberries facilities were struck in the region on July 17–19.

ISW believes that increasing Ukrainian activity in striking deep into the Russian rear, strikes on military logistics facilities and medium-range targets, as well as attempts to isolate occupied Crimea, are already placing additional demands on Russia’s human and material resources – in addition to existing needs to staff forces and defend the front line.
According to analysts, it will not be easy for Russia to add Wildberries warehouses and similar facilities to the ever-growing list of rear objects to be protected.
These disruptions will likely continue to cause inconvenience to residents of major cities such as Moscow and St. Petersburg, which the Kremlin is trying to protect from the consequences of the war.
Strikes on Wildberries facilities could also put financial pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s inner circle. It is reported that Anton Vaino, head of the Presidential Administration, and Alexei Gromov, first deputy head of the administration, either support Wildberries or are co-owners of the company.
ISW recalled that in March 2026, Putin reportedly appealed to the Russian elite, asking for financial support for his war efforts, thus breaking a promise made to oligarchs in July 2000 – to support the privatization of Soviet assets on the condition that oligarchs would not interfere in Russian politics and would pledge loyalty to Putin.
Since then, the Russian elite has reportedly been trying to transfer funds abroad to protect their assets from nationalization in Russia.
Strikes on Wildberries Warehouses
On the night of July 24, Ukrainian defense forces struck several warehouses of the Russian logistics company Wildberries.
On July 23, Telegram channels reported an attack in the Novaya Usman district, where a Wildberries logistics center is located. According to OSINT analysis, one of the night videos shows a fire in Novaya Usman, two kilometers from the Wildberries facility. Two kilometers from it, but in the other direction, there is also an Ozon warehouse.
On the night of July 22, Ukrainian drones struck two large Wildberries logistics centers in southern Russia. Specifically, a facility in Krasnodar, covering an area of about 100,000 square meters, and a facility in Stavropol Krai, covering an area of about 90,000 square meters, were attacked.
On July 20, drones attacked the Moscow region. Then, in Podolsk, a fire engulfed another Wildberries warehouse, and in Domodedovo, the “Southern Gates” (Yuzhnye Vorota) industrial park.
On July 18, drones attacked Wildberries warehouses in Elektrostal, Moscow region, and Kotovsk, Tambov region.
