L. Jakimavičienė spent most of her career working in the Jonava municipality, where she was responsible for strategic activity planning, budget, attracting investments, and financing and administration of education, social policy, and other areas.
According to the municipality’s website, in 2019–2020 she worked as the head of its Centralized Accounting Department, in 2017–2019 she was an advisor to the then Minister of Economy Virginijus Sinkevičius and the ministry’s chief advisor, and in 2002–2017 she worked as an advisor to Jonava mayors, including the current Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevičius, and as the head of the Strategic Planning and Investment Department.

L. Jakimavičienė obtained Bachelor’s and later Master’s degrees in Economics at Vytautas Magnus University.
As BNS wrote, Janušas Kizenevičius, Kęstutis Kvaraciejus, and Rūta Carik also serve as Deputy Ministers of Finance.
