The accident occurred shortly after midnight on Saturday in the south of the Czech Republic, on the D52 highway near the town of Pohorželice. At that time, cars were traveling in the direction of the city of Brno.

“The first car stopped because it encountered wild boars. The second car stopped behind it. Unfortunately, the driver of another car, it is believed, was driving at high speed and crashed into both stationary vehicles,” said Czech police spokesman David Chaloupka.

Two women died at the scene despite medical attempts to revive them. A seriously injured man and two children were taken to hospitals in Brno. One of the children was airlifted to the hospital by helicopter but later died. This increased the death toll to three, reports “TVP World.”

A fundraising campaign started by relatives revealed that the deceased were Patrycja, her son Hubert, and the family friend Magda.

The woman’s husband Marcin and their second son Tymon survived but suffered serious injuries and remained in the hospital.

The collected funds are intended for the repatriation of the deceased to Poland, funeral expenses, and the treatment and rehabilitation of the surviving family members.

By Monday morning, the fundraising campaign had already exceeded the set goal of 250,000 Polish zlotys (about 58,000 euros), and donations continued to flow in.

The highway was closed for several hours after the accident while services worked at the scene. The Czech police continue to investigate all the circumstances of the accident.
