State prosecutor Gardi Anderson stated that there is close cooperation with Latvian law enforcement agencies, and the court approved the request to detain two of the three suspects.

“We are cooperating with our Latvian colleagues to bring the suspects to Estonia. We will soon decide whether to request the detention of the third suspect,” she said.
G. Anderson confirmed that the arson was intentional and premeditated, but refused to disclose more details about the investigation.
“We are investigating all possibilities, including whether this was an act of sabotage,” she added.
On August 15, the emergency center received a report about a fire in a warehouse in Tallinn at 1:45 a.m. Firefighters controlled the fire by 3:03 a.m., then removed the roof covering to find and extinguish remaining fire sources.
According to a prosecutor’s representative, a local resident reported suspicious activity to the emergency services. The fire was brought under control by rescue teams, and no injuries were reported.

Director of the Estonian Internal Security Service Margo Palloson (Margo Palosonas) stated that attacks on critical infrastructure are taken very seriously and that special attention must be paid to strengthening both physical and digital infrastructure security measures.
“The level of threats to Estonia has not changed in recent years. Russia poses a long-term existential threat to Estonia, which means we must be prepared for possible Russian provocations and non-military threats,” added M. Palloson.
Prime Minister Kristen Michal also noted that the motive for the crime must be established during the investigation.
“The possibility that this was an act of sabotage and that Russia is behind the arson is being investigated. The state takes this possibility seriously and is taking appropriate actions,” he said.
Milrem Robotics CEO Kuldar Vaarsi (Kuldaras Varsis) said it is still too early to assess the damage caused by the fire.
