On Sunday in the town of Tšebiežas, officers tried to stop a car driven by a 17-year-old young man for inspection, but he ignored their signals and drove away.
During the police chase, the teenager lost control of the vehicle and near the town of Uniemyšlis crashed into another car.
“He collided head-on with another Opel car, and then hit a third vehicle,” local police spokeswoman Kornelia Staniszewska told the media outlet Polsat News.
Large forces were sent to the accident site – firefighters and ambulance crews. The most seriously injured 17-year-old driver was airlifted to the hospital by a medical helicopter, reports TVP World.

“Three other teenagers who were in the same car with the seventeen-year-old, as well as a passenger in the second car, were also taken to the hospital,” added K. Staniszewska.
The condition of the injured is currently unknown.
The police reported that checks at the scene showed that all participants in the accident were sober. Investigators are currently determining the exact circumstances of the accident.
