The owner of the television channel “CNews,” “Canal+,” and “Lagardere,” which operates the radio station “Europe 1,” stated in a joint statement that banning K. Fedorova from participating in public discussions “would be a particularly serious violation of freedom of expression and diversity of opinions.”

Earlier on Wednesday, the French Ministry of the Interior announced that the controversial Russian journalist K. Fedorova was ordered to leave the country. The journalist faced accusations of spreading Kremlin propaganda on French television.
As France prepares for next year’s presidential elections, disinformation experts have expressed concern about K. Fedorova – a former journalist for the Russian state channel RT – and her influence.
The French newspaper “Liberation” quoted the expulsion order, accusing her of transmitting “disinformation campaigns organized by Russian institutions” aimed at “destabilizing public order” in France.

“RT France” was closed in 2023, a year after President Vladimir Putin ordered the start of Russia’s large-scale invasion of Ukraine.
However, K. Fedorova remained and secured a commentator role in the media empire of conservative billionaire Vincent Bollore.
She regularly appears on the television channel “CNews,” on the radio “Europe 1,” and writes a column for the publication “Le Journal du Dimanche,” spreading Kremlin narratives about Ukraine and the West.
