In the municipality’s territory, the wind knocked down many trees over the weekend, in some places power lines were cut, and electric poles were toppled.
For this reason, many people in the municipality’s territory are without electricity, causing water supply disruptions, some roads are blocked by trees and impassable, and in some areas there is no telephone connection.
As reports from residents about water and food shortages increased, and the danger from fallen trees and broken branches in residential areas remained, a decision was made to declare an emergency situation.
Residents of Kazlų Rūda municipality were informed on Monday where to turn for water, food, or health needs if they are in more remote areas.

Institutions with special equipment share their resources – generators, towers, lifts, etc.
Declaring an emergency situation will make it easier to access military and police assistance in clearing territories, delivering food, water, and medical supplies to more distant or hard-to-reach settlements.
