The Polish platform “e-petrol.pl”, which analyzes and publishes data on the fuel market situation, has released a report stating that diesel prices in Poland have reached the highest level in history, while gasoline prices have reached the highest level this year, according to the country’s public broadcaster TVP.

According to the source, the average diesel price in Poland is currently 8.22 zloty (1.91 euros) per liter, and drivers wanting to fill up with gasoline will have to pay an average of 7.55 zloty (1.76 euros) per liter.
The report cites the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East and difficulties in obtaining fuel “due to problems in the oil refining sector” as the main reasons for the price increase.
Polish Finance Minister Andrzej Domanski stated that the government has not yet decided whether to take additional measures to limit fuel taxes to ease the financial burden on residents.

In March, the Polish government set a “cap” on fuel prices. However, this program, which cost the state about 4.7 billion zlotys (1.09 billion euros), ended at the end of June.
The Polish state news agency PAP reported that A. Domanski said the government is considering reducing fuel taxes at the end of summer.
