After the death of a 37-year-old man from Kėdainiai, law enforcement launched a murder investigation. The investigation was reclassified after it became clear that the man had been beaten before his death, and his injuries could have been related to his death.

“Rinkos aikštė” reminds that the Police Department had informed that on the morning of July 20, around 7:30 AM, a 37-year-old man with injuries was found in an apartment on Chemikų Street in Kėdainiai.
Upon receiving a report that he needed urgent medical attention, paramedics who arrived at the scene immediately began resuscitation and treatment, but the man died from his injuries.
It turned out that the man had been beaten on the street the day before. A pre-trial investigation was launched to determine the cause of death.

The incident is being investigated as a possible murder, but no arrests have been made yet.
On Wednesday, Milda Rimkė, chief specialist of the Communication Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Lithuania, informed that the investigation has been reclassified under Article 129, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Lithuania, which provides for responsibility for murder.
Currently, officials are clarifying all the circumstances of the incident, and no arrests have been made yet. If individuals whose actions led to the death of the 37-year-old man from Kėdainiai are identified and their guilt is proven, they could face imprisonment for up to 15 years.
