A post has spread on social media explaining why a gift voucher for a sanatorium is not always as good a gift as it might seem at first glance. The woman in the post mentioned that she had an unused gift voucher for “Eglė’s Sanatorium.” As the voucher’s expiration date approached, she began to inquire about when and how she could use it.

However, that’s when the challenges began. It turned out that the gift voucher could not be used during public holidays, school vacations, and in some cases – weekends. So she had to wait until summer.
The choice itself also proved to be no less tricky. The gift voucher is not valid for all the sanatorium’s offered relaxation programs, so choosing the right option might require quite a bit of thought and time.
“In general, don’t give vouchers for any sanatoriums or SPAs unless specifically requested. Otherwise, it just ends up as euros in the pockets of voucher sellers, and the gift recipient often forgets about such a gift or misses the expiration date,” the author of the post stated.
However, the problems didn’t end there. After thoroughly searching where she could use the voucher, the woman found a suitable option – the gift could be applied to the “Healthy Days MIDI” program.
“Four procedures a day aren’t bad, but when I arrived at ‘Eglė’s Sanatorium,’ I found out that my traveling companion’s daughter was not entitled to them. The service for two would only apply if I had traveled with an adult, and children are only entitled to two procedures. Why? Nobody knows,” the Lithuanian woman said.

She questioned where such conditions were written. According to her, even the reception staff had to search carefully to find the explanation, which they only found on the third page of the website.
“Poor thing, I said, so maybe being in the salt room, relaxation procedures, or mineral pearl baths are harmful to children? No – said the doctor assigning the procedures, but ‘you see, the number of procedures is limited,'” the post stated.
“I wonder what to call this: cheating or bluffing? You sell more but give less – and save money at the expense of deceived clients.
“Management tells us that clients have to learn to read the programs themselves,” the employees, who are bombarded with many dissatisfied clients with similar questions, justify themselves. Reading it somewhere on the nth page under an asterisk… I would say it’s a very strange management attitude, and even the doctors and well-meaning staff burdened in the sanatorium have to endure it,” she wrote.
