Portofino is a colorful fishing village located on the Italian Riviera. Although it is one of the most photographed places in the country, local authorities have introduced “no-waiting zones” to reduce large gatherings and ensure smooth movement through the narrow streets and coastal areas.
According to the Portofino municipality, people who linger too long in marked areas may be fined up to 275 euros.

Restrictions apply in some of the busiest spots in Portofino, including the picturesque harbor, the famous Piazzetta, and Molo Umberto I. However, tourists can still take photos, but they are not allowed to block paths, pose for long periods, set up cameras, or create obstacles while waiting in these restricted zones.
