Examples have been revealed in the court examining the scandalous criminal case, where some employees of VMVT units diligently followed the orders of the “Calf Mafia” leaders, while officials who did not carry out illegal tasks faced pressure and even persecution.
The Vilnius District Court is investigating whether the former head of VMVT created a ruthless scheme of racketeering entrepreneurs on behalf of the state. The indictment submitted by prosecutors and other case materials record that the “Calf Mafia” set quotas for entrepreneurs raising beef cattle and wanting to export them.
