The prosecutor of the Organized Crime and Corruption Investigation Division of the Klaipėda District Prosecutor’s Office has completed the pre-trial investigation and submitted the case to the court by criminal order regarding the illegal handling of narcotic (psychotropic) substances without the intent to distribute them, smuggled into the Republic of Lithuania.

The investigation in this case was conducted by officers of the Organized Crime Investigation Department (KPONTV) of the Klaipėda County Chief Police Commissariat.
The pre-trial investigation was initiated in November 2025, after receiving information that a parcel possibly containing drugs was delivered from a foreign country to a parcel locker in the Klaipėda district. The recipient of the parcel was listed under a false name and surname.
Upon checking the parcel in the locker, about 15 g of narcotic substance – cannabis – and 10 gummies containing a psychotropic substance were found. In January 2026, KPONTV officers, conducting a search at the home of the 19-year-old parcel recipient in the Klaipėda district, also found cannabis and other drugs.

The 19-year-old was charged with illegal handling of the aforementioned substances without the intent to distribute them and smuggling them into the Republic of Lithuania.
Since the accused admitted to committing the criminal acts, the case was concluded by a criminal order of the court and the offender was fined 3,500 euros.
