BFK proposes to limit ILTE financing to a somewhat broader circle of politicians than the Government suggested (including parliamentarians), but narrower than the Parliament’s lawyers proposed, who urged to include the president, the chancellors of the Parliament and the Presidency, municipal leaders, and the central bank board.

“There was a remark that all politicians should be included, there were mayors, deputy mayors, and chancellors… We know that we (Members of Parliament – BNS) can exert influence, so we included Members of Parliament,” said BFK chairman, social democrat Algirdas Sysas, in the committee.
