On Friday, Berlin International Airport is operating as usual. Flights were disrupted on Thursday evening when, due to a threat, passengers reporting dangerous materials led to the urgent evacuation of the first terminal, writes “Yahoo News”.

The airport information system shows that only a few flights were canceled after this incident.
“Early Friday morning, the airline canceled two departures because planes could not land in Berlin on Thursday evening due to the evacuation,” said the airport representative.
According to the representative, passengers whose plans were disrupted on Thursday or Friday will be informed personally about alternative travel options.
Reported carrying dangerous material
The first terminal was evacuated after a woman declared at the federal police checkpoint that she was carrying dangerous material. After this incident, everyone in the building was instructed to leave immediately.

Although flights were not completely stopped, delays and some cancellations could not be avoided. The police finished checking the premises around 8:45 p.m. local time, and later in the evening it was reported that the threat had passed.
According to the federal police, preliminary data shows that no real threat arose at any stage. It is not yet disclosed what specific material was tested; the results of the investigation are expected in the coming days.
“Currently, the collected data is being evaluated,” a police representative said on Friday morning.
