Belarus regularly conducts military exercises, sometimes together with Russia.
The ministry stated that the exercises, part of which took place in regions bordering Poland and Lithuania, were of a “strictly defensive nature.”
“Among other things, they aim to strengthen soldiers’ ability to defend the state’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” the statement said.

The exercises took place from Tuesday to Friday, the ministry said.
The exercises were reported amid increasing tension over possible Russian planned “hybrid” drone and missile strikes on Kyiv’s allies.
