On Monday, the tennis coach published a photo of his family as a response on Instagram:
We remind you that M. Bertulis visited the tv3.lt portal’s podcast “Pasikalbėkim” hosted by Renata Šakalytė, where he openly spoke about his famous brother for the first time.
When the conversation in the podcast turned to family, Mantas said that he did not have a male role model in his childhood – his father simply did not participate in his life.
“Like many, I am an accident. My biological father betrayed his family with my mother, and that’s how I came to be. But he doesn’t exist in my life – I’ve probably only seen him once, in court. He hasn’t paid a single litas, he hid his income, so for me, that’s a low level. There’s nothing to talk about,” M. Bertulis said in the “Pasikalbėkim” podcast.

In the “Pasikalbėkim” podcast, a little-known fact emerged – it turns out Mantas has a brother who is a well-recognized face in Lithuania.

“My brother – although I don’t want to call him that, but our father is the same – is tennis coach Simas Kučas. I told this information to “Radistai” 12 years ago, and later this news reached him,” M. Bertulis said.

Mantas stated that when the news spread, he received a message from Simas, which was certainly not “brotherly.”
M. Bertulis stated that he himself does not consider S. Kučas his brother, because this word means a much deeper, closer role in a person’s life for him.
“I also don’t say that he is my brother, because brothers probably play a different role in a person’s life. However, this person just seems arrogant to me, and I don’t want to have anything to do with him,” M. Bertulis said in the tv3.lt portal’s podcast hosted by R. Šakalytė.
