In the Naujoji Vilnia beach, increased microbiological contamination has been recorded since July 16. During this period, “Grinda” claims to have commissioned four water quality tests.

The results of the fourth test showed that the water again meets the established requirements, so the recommendation not to swim is lifted.

“July in the capital was not short of rainy days, and various environmental factors, including heavy rainfall, can affect water quality in rivers.
At the beginning of July, increased microbiological contamination indicators were also recorded at the Žirmūnai, Trakų Vokė, and Grigiškės beaches, but later the water quality there recovered as the water naturally renewed,” the statement says.
“Grinda” oversees 15 beaches in Vilnius. Currently, the water quality of all of them meets hygiene requirements, so it is safe to swim there.
According to the company, to ensure safe swimming conditions, water and sand quality tests are regularly commissioned throughout the season at all supervised Vilnius beaches, and their results are published publicly.
