“Just as the disease devastated my body, my life fundamentally changed after it. It felt as if I had woken up in another world. Relationships fell apart, I had to sell the house and start everything anew,” said the author of the book “Invisible Eyes,” who also overcame a very difficult rehabilitation process: relearning to walk, restoring lost functions of the weakened body.

“Although I worked in the film industry, I had started writing even before this illness. So from the moment I woke up from the coma, I had a clear feeling that I had to publish a book – not for myself, but for people to whom my texts could give hope, remind them of strength, perseverance, and morality,” Regimantas said.
According to him, the book consists of three parts. Each creates a different emotion for the reader – from calmness, coziness, and warmth to absolute emotional discomfort and chaos. The first part is a philosophical conversation of a boy with a mysterious, wise old man. The second part presents six intriguing and completely different short stories. And the third part depicts a symbolic journey of the same boy through life – towards his true self and his true home.
“I believe there will be people who will find thoughts close to them, familiar life situations, or crossroads of choices. Perhaps some will even get answers to their silent questions,” the author said.

When asked if he had thoughts about adapting his unconventional work for the screen, Regimantas Ivickas admitted that it would be a great achievement for him if this collection of stories ever turned into something similar to the Netflix series “Black Mirror” or “Love, Death & Robots.”
“But right now, the most important thing for me is that the book ‘Invisible Eyes’ reaches readers who will discover and appreciate it each in their own way,” said the debuting writer.
