A representative of the Russian Embassy in Lithuania summoned to the ministry was handed a note of strict protest regarding the ongoing mass shelling of Ukrainian territory by the Russian armed forces, during which civilians are killed and injured, residential buildings and civilian infrastructure are destroyed, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemns the relentless and unjustifiable attacks by the Russian military forces against civilians and infrastructure and emphasizes that these are war crimes and crimes against humanity, for which there is no statute of limitations,” the note states.
Lithuania has firmly demanded that Russia immediately cease military aggression against Ukraine and war crimes, withdraw occupying forces from the entire internationally recognized sovereign territory of Ukraine, and compensate for the damage caused by Russian aggression against Ukraine.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs report, at least several Russian airstrikes against Ukraine were recorded just last week, claiming double-digit numbers of civilian lives – on August 21, 16 people died in an attack on a shopping center in Kryvyi Rih, on the night of August 19 to 20, 17 civilians lost their lives in Kyiv and its surroundings due to Russia’s fault, and on August 18, a Russian missile strike on the village of Pechenihy in the Kharkiv region claimed 10 lives.

Damaged residential buildings, a children’s hospital, an educational institution, logistics centers, including Red Cross facilities, and other civilian infrastructure.
The note also draws attention to the so-called human safari conducted by Russian forces in the frontline regions of Ukraine, where civilians are cynically attacked with FPV drones.
