The nearly two-kilometer-long path connected the town with the beach and recreation and sports area established in the first village of Kazlų.
The path with lighting and benches for rest was built in two stages: last year, a section nearly 1.7 km long was laid, this year another 0.3 km section was completed so that the beach could be conveniently reached by bike path.

Funding for the construction of the 2.5-meter-wide path was pooled from the municipality, “Via Lietuvos,” and EU funds. Another 40 thousand euros was allocated by the wood chipboard and furniture manufacturing company “Ikea Industry Lietuva” operating in Kazlų Rūda.
Currently, bike paths connecting Kazlų Rūda with Višakio Rūda and Ąžuolų Būda have been established in the municipality, and in addition, a path is now being built near the busy Kaunas–Marijampolė road.

In the future, it is planned to extend the bike path from Kazlų Rūda to Bagotoji.
