Pasvalys district mayor Gintautas Gegužinskas announced this on his Facebook page.
“The earth is opening again in the Pasvalys region… Birches have sunk near Buiviškiai. The sinkhole is about 7 meters deep, about 20 meters wide. Fortunately, there are no buildings nearby,” writes G. Gegužinskas.

The Pasvalys district newspaper “Darbas” writes that the sinkhole was noticed on the morning of August 31 in the village of Buiviškiai, near the “Via Baltica” highway, by the eldership employees.
Saločiai eldership head Sigitas Savickas said that this is one of the largest sinkholes recently opened in the fields.
A few years ago, the earth also collapsed quite nearby, but then the hole was much smaller. “Darbas” writes that the new collapse is still forming, and different soil layers are already clearly visible on its slopes: earth, sand, and clay.
