“It was reported that a trapped bird was seen,” security guards informed. A ladder truck was dispatched to the scene. The bird’s leg was stuck in the wall, rescuers are currently trying to pull it out,” said the PAGD Situations Coordination Division duty officer.
The operation was successful – around 4:20 PM. Residents captured the departing firefighter-rescuer vehicle in one of the apartment buildings on Jonažolių St. in the capital.
The injured bird, believed to be a swift, was temporarily sheltered by the residents themselves. The bird cannot fly on its own; its leg is injured.
Currently, a veterinary clinic or animal welfare organization that could help is being sought.
