I must add that the quality of real estate is significantly worse than in Lithuania.

I myself really like the Canary Islands, but only in winter. I go there every year. In summer – it’s too hot, but that’s a matter of preference. The Canary Islands are different, but some negative aspects unite them.

Beach vendors

If you think there’s something similar to the Lithuanian seaside there, you’re very wrong. In Lithuania, beach vendors are practically invisible and cause no discomfort. In the Canaries, especially in the southern resorts of Tenerife, this is a full-time illegal job, whose workers set out for work every morning and aggressively harass holidaymakers. Yes, yes, you understood correctly, I cannot call it anything other than aggressive harassment.

Usually, these are African citizens living there illegally, as well as Asian citizens. Several times, due to their persistence, I even had to leave the beach earlier.

Usually, Africans sell beach blankets, although a more fitting description would be – sheets. There’s a separate story about those coverings. The initial price is usually 25 euros, which can be knocked down to 10 euros or even lower. Many are tempted to buy them because they are large and come with some pattern, an image of an elephant or a lizard.

If your blanket has a white and blue pattern or a white and black one, and most of them do, be careful. You might say, what could be dangerous about those sheets? Well, after swimming in the ocean and lying down, a surprise awaits you after a few hours.
